IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.
IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host communities through 20 healthcare facilities and other health and nutrition projects
During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management
Specific Responsibilities:
Ensuring the quality of care, and remedial and preventive measures that meet the highest standards of care and hygiene in all departments.
This includes, but is not limited to:
• Correct the method of throwing medicines and explain this clearly to the patient.
• Wound dressing.
• Provide injections / intravenous fluids.
Hygiene measures (medical waste separation, hand washing).
• Medical records.
• Accompanying doctors on patient tours and implementing treatment instructions.
• Follow up the referral system and give the necessary information for subsequent treatment.
• Follow-up patients and supervise their needs, hygiene and food, in addition to other medical matters.
• Implementing the instructions of the Chief Nursing and working according to the applicable working schedule.
• Work on integration and assist in training and directing the new staff.
• Participate in daily meetings with other nurses and weekly meetings with all staff.
• Collecting health data to provide timely reports.
• Support medical waste management in accordance with laws and recommendations and supervises the work of cleaners in the entire unit.
• Inform the head nurse of any difficulty, security concerns, the possibility of the spread of an infectious disease and any other relevant information.
• Preserving the rights, dignity and confidentiality of patient information, as well as maintaining a friendly atmosphere in dealing with patients.
• Contribute effectively to the improvement of the health facility and organization.
• Carrying out any other duties - within her expertise - as assigned by the Chief Nursing Officer or by the Medical Supervisor or his assistant.
• Strictly adhere to humanitarian and protection principles and standards, as well as organizational policies including the Code of Conduct, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection
