Purpose of the Position:

To support the implementation of the Wildfire and Disaster Risk Reduction Component of the project across the targeted sites, by conducting field activities, providing technical support in firebreak maintenance, forest rehabilitation, nursery operations, and ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and follow up on field activities related to the Wildfire Component under the supervision of the Team Leader.
  • Monitor firebreak opening and maintenance as well as ecological restoration of forests.
  • Provide technical support in operating the forest nursery and managing planting and care processes.
  • Collect accurate field data on project activities and enter it into approved templates.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly field reports and submit to the Team Leader.
  • Coordinate with the technical team on equipment, materials, and logistical needs.
  • Contribute to enhancing local community participation in related activities.
  • Ensure occupational health, safety, and environmental standards are applied in all field activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in Agricultural Engineering, Forestry, Environment, or Disaster Risk Management or related field.
  • Practical experience in forest management, wildfire prevention, or ecosystem rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of firebreak construction and maintenance, reforestation, and nursery operations.
  • Strong skills in communicating with local communities.
  • Ability to prepare field reports and use computer programs (Excel – Word).
  • Previous experience with NGOs or development projects is an asset.
